Macports updating database of binaries
Note that this is a one-time-only gain since once the GCC is built it can be reused with recompilation.
Each line in the file specifies the path to a standard compiler executable.
Most notably, the last line specifies the Fortran compiler to use.
(The two lines with dashes point to the Java compiler and the code coverage tool, typically gcj and gcov.
These pages describe our installation of GNU Radio 3.0 and 3.1 with the USRP hardware on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger on PPC Macs.
Once you do this, you can always use the H2 supported curl and won't have to remember the alias or the path for the homebrew installed version of the curl command.
This makes Mac Ports behave in undefined ways until a fresh complete copy is retrieved.
In some cases Mac Ports doesn't always realize when another copy of itself is running and will gleefully tromp all over the available ports database.
I am skipping the technical explanation on the why and how.
This is a simple blog on just getting curl installed and using it. If it is not installed, just paste this line in terminal. Now you can use the command "h2curl" whenever you need to use the H2 supported curl command.
